
From top to bottom the picture shows the pre-amplifier mounted in a closed box. A mixer current meter is visible and the IF is taken out via the BNC connector. The point contact diode in its circular housing is next. This appears to be a piece of commercial surplus that has been re-engineered for amateur use. Finally the self calibrating wavemeter is seen.

The wavemeter can be seen to be clamped to the waveguide 16 by a diagonal retaining bar.

The pre-amplifier box is labelled, and the IF frequency is 70 MHz. The comment from G4NNS is that the noise figure is 'lots'.
