The wavemeter is seen clamped across a piece of waveguide

This 24GHz self calibrating wavemeter was made in 1984.

As with the 10GHz Wavemeter, Tom made the micrometer head himself. Given his partial sight the markings on the wavemeter are coloured dots. The colours following the standard colours used on resistors etc.

The micrometer has an aluminium barrel whilst the main cavity is machined from brass and then silver plated.

To connect with the RF in the waveguide a probe couples the energy through to the wavemeter body.
